Since 1988 the Great Plains Sociological Association has published the Great Plains Sociologist (GPS), the official journal of GPSA. Great Plains Sociologist is an open-access refereed general sociological journal with articles of interest to sociologists in the Great Plains region and beyond. Topics should be of interest to a wide audience of sociologists. We are interested in publishing research articles, theoretical essays, teaching and learning research and ideas, book/film/podcast reviews, visual sociology projects, etc. Submissions from faculty and students are welcome. GPS follows a double-blind peer review process for all submissions. Please submit articles for Great Plains Sociologist online to the editor, Courtney Waid-Lindberg (Northern State University). Submissions of reviews may be sent to the review editor, Kristi Brownfield (Northern State University). Abstract proposals for the upcoming special issue can be submitted via this link.
Currently the Great Plains Sociologist is undergoing a reorganization and relaunch, including a new hosting platform. Details on this new platform will be available soon.
